Our core beliefs
Discover the foundational truths that guide our faith and community at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

God's gift of love and grace
At Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, our core belief is simple yet profound: it's enough to trust in God’s gift of love and grace through Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe in the power of this divine love to transform lives and offer salvation. While our faith is deeply rooted in this trust, the Lutheran Church also provides a rich tradition of devotional and theological writings to deepen understanding.

Guidance from the Small Catechism
Martin Luther’s Small Catechism serves as a simple instruction guide for families, beautifully laying out God’s work of grace in Christ and what it means to trust in God. This essential text offers clear explanations of the Ten Commandments, the Apostle’s Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, Communion, and Forgiveness. It provides an accessible way for everyone to understand the fundamental tenets of our faith.

Belief in the Triune God
Together with the universal Christian Church, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God. We believe in God the Father, the creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. We affirm that these three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.
"The grace and love found within Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church have been a beacon of light in my life, guiding me through every challenge with faith."
